RFAF puts off last mini-league game for promotion until all postponed matches are played

Almería ‘B’ vs El Palo has been rearranged for Sunday, 16 May

The RFAF (Andalusian Football Federation) has informed the clubs participating in the mini-league for promotion to Segunda Division RFEF of the decision to put off the last game of this part of the season until the matches that were suspended due to Covid-19 are played. As a result, the match between UD Almería ‘B’ and El Palo has been postponed.

All of the last mini-league for promotion games will be played at the same time on 16 May. Once the table is completed, the ranking will show which sides will make it to the play-offs and then announce the winners who will move up to the higher league level along with Vélez and Atlético Mancha Real.

With regard to Almería ‘B’, the youngsters are involved in the race for the third and fourth place in the table, which are the spots that lead to the semi-final with the home-field advantage. The qualifying rounds will be contested as a single game knockout and always played on the pitch of the team who have obtained better results in the previous phases.

If the young Rojiblancos could not end up third, the last match would offer the youth team players the opportunity of reaching fourth place, as long as they get a better result against El Palo than Antequera’s when they host Torredonjimeno.

If they progressed to the quarter-finals, UD Almería ‘B’ would face Torremolinos or Atlético Malagueño on home turf in that knockout stage as both teams have already sealed passage virtually to the play-offs, but it is yet to be known whether they will do so as the first or second coming from the repechage. The leaders would visit the sixth, while the second would do the same with the fifth from the mini-league for promotion.
