Pablo Jaramillo, the para-cycling bronze medallist at the Paralympic Games in Tokyo 2020, was the protagonist in the early stages of the match between UD Almería and UD Las Palmas. UD Almeria paid tribute to the Almeria-born athlete, who came away with silver in the para-cycling world competition twice, in front of nearly 9,000 fans who gathered in the Mediterraneo stands.

UD Almeria advisor Ibrahim Ewis presented Pablo Jaramillo with a UD Almeria shirt, and he presented the Club with a replica of his bronze medal Olympic diploma. Subsequently, he took the kick-off in the early stages of the match, under the watchful eye of the referees and the captains of both teams, César de la Hoz and Jonathan Viera.
