Mario Silva stops training UD Almería after reaching an agreement with the club

The Lusitanian head coach bid farewell to the squad and left the club.

Jesús Muñoz and Víctor Mañas are also leaving UD Almería and Mario Silva have reached an agreement with the Portuguese gaffer to stop being in the driving seat of the first team, a position he agreed back on 26th June to replace former Real Madrid player José María Gutiérrez.

This Monday, when the side resumed training after having had the weekend off, they said goodbye to the players, since he will not work any longer as the Academy technical director. Both sides have decided what is best for the club

Jesús Muñoz and Víctor Mañas, who have also said goodbye to the staff, are not going to continue either. As for Nandinho, the Almeria B head coach, who gave the first team a helping hand, are back to train Almería B.

The first training session of the week has been conducted by Víctor Fortes and Ricardo Molina, coaching team members who remain in the first team. Fernando, Petrovic and Vada have been exercising as per usual as they have recovered from their respective injuries. Aguza and Kaptoum are the only players on the sidelines, although they are making good progress.

The new UD Almeria coaching staff have not been able to train as they do not have the results of the Covid-19 tests they have undergone yet. If they happen to be negative, this Tuesday they will be in charge of the preparation that has been scheduled for 6.30 p.m. at Juegos Mediterraneos.

UD Almería would like to publicly wholeheartedly thank Mario Silva, as well as Jesús Muñoz and Víctor Mañas, for the professionalism and commitment they have had with the club up to now. Similarly, Almeria would like to thank the hard work carried out by the Almeria B technical staff’s constant support.
