Latest signing Francisco Portillo joins Almeria’s training

The Malaga-born player joins his new team-mates in a practice with focus on ball control and fast passing moves

The UD Almería players have returned to training on Friday morning, being the first session for new signing Francisco Portillo. The morning football practice focused on ball control, footwork and fast passing moves at the training base Anexo Juegos Mediterraneos.

A total of 27 players have taken to the training ground. The only two players missing training were Juan Villar, who is feeling physical discomfort, and Ager Aketxe, who had permission from the Club not to attend training for personal reasons.

Rubi conducted training with full focus on fast passing moves. For this reason, after a warm-up of passes between the players, the head coach has split the squad members into teams to play an in-house game. The UD Almeria gaffer has given instructions at all times, even stopping the match when he had to explain specific moves.

On Friday afternoon (7pm), the UD Almería players train again to complete preparations for the two weekend friendlies against Atlético Pulpileño and Águilas FC.
