Juegos Mediterraneos will have a renowned medical centre around the world

UD Almería sign an agreement with Ripoll y de Prado Sport Clinic to make this ambitious project a reality

‘We’re going to set up a renowned medical centre around the world in the Juegos Mediterraneos Stadium for the treatment of sports injuries, which will be a FIFA accredited centre of Excellence,’ stated prestigious traumatologist Pedro Luis Ripoll at the event that served as the presentation of the ambitious project between Ripoll y de Prado Sport Clinic and UD Almería.

Within the complete Stadium renovation being carried out, 400 square metres will be allocated to the medical facility ‘which will be equipped with state-of-the-art technology,’ as explained by Pedro Luis Ripoll, who was accompanied by Dr Mariano De Prado and on behalf of UD Almería, Club’s Director General Mohamed El Assy; Financial Director Mostafa Yilmaz, and head of medical services Diego Portugal.

Ripoll specified that the medical centre ‘in addition to having the highest level in sports medicine, it won’t only be aimed at athletes but also at any person regardless of their economic possibilities since there will be facilities for all.’

Prestigious traumatologist Mariano De Prado, stressed ‘there’re 28 FIFA medical centres of excellence in the world and UD Almería will have one more, but not only for the treatment of injuries because we’ll do a job of prevention and control of biomechanics to study in each person their possibilities when it comes to sports.’

Both Pedro Luis Ripoll and Mariano De Prado thanked the Club and its leaders sincerely for their total support, especially Turki Alalshikh, as well as Mohamed El Assy and Mostafa Yilmaz. In the same way, they highlighted the great project that they are carrying out in Almeria city.

Meanwhile, the Club's Director General thanked Ripoll and De Prado for making it possible to have ‘a FIFA medical centre of excellence in Almeria that will be the largest medical clinic in Spain within a stadium.’ Mohamed El Assy stressed ‘this agreement only goes to prove that our Stadium will be among the elite of world sports facilities.’

During the event, a video of what the medical clinic will be like was screened before Pedro Luis Ripoll, Mariano De Prado and Mohamed El Assy signed the deal.
