Juan Villar rejoins team-mates in training 2 months after hamstring injury

The Huelva-born right-winger is all excited and says ‘I want to be in action as soon as possible, but in the best possible shape.’

UD Almería forward Juan Villar rejoined his team-mates in training 2 months after he suffered a muscle tear in his right hamstring at the start of the summer’s pre-season. Despite the Huelva native player had already been working on the grass for several weeks, he joined the team dynamics this Thursday, 16 September.

‘The truth is that I feel very well, but it’s still too early to know when I’ll be available. Everything will depend on how my recovery process goes in training,’ said Juan Villar on UDA Radio, the Club's official radio station. He has been under the medical services supervision and now it is time to get match fit in order to be available for selection. On this subject, the forward pointed out ‘I want to be in action as soon as possible, but in the best possible shape.’

The 33-year-old Rojiblanco, who expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the support of the coaching staff, medical services and his team-mates, stated ‘I had high expectations for this season, after things didn’t turn out the way I expected in the previous season for various reasons. I started with good vibes, but the injury changed everything.’

Juan Villar is optimistic anyway. As a matter of fact, he wants to get back those good vibes from the start of the pre-season, and he is convinced of it: ‘I think it’s going to be a good year collectively and individually,’ he exclaimed.
