Juan Villar passes medical with Dr Pedro Luis Ripoll

The prestigious traumatologist recommends that the player follow a conservative treatment

UD Almería striker Juan Villar has undergone a medical with Dr Pedro Luis Ripoll at the Ripoll and Prado Sport Clinic in Almeria to assess the injury he suffered in the last match played at the Juegos Mediterraneos Stadium against Real Sociedad ‘B’.

The Huelva-born footballer was forced to come off the pitch with a left shoulder dislocation and straight after was taken to the Virgen del Mar Hospital, where he was sedated in a bid to reduce this injury in the operating room.

The prestigious traumatologist recommends that Juan Villar follow a conservative treatment and depending on his progress, it will be determined when he begins to join his team-mates. He has been exercising sidelined this Tuesday morning though.

The medical report issued by Dr. Ripoll is as follows: ‘Patient consulting at this centre after suffering a posterior dislocation of the left shoulder. After the clinical and radiological examination, conservative treatment is chosen to have a medical follow-up. Surgery is not being considered at this time. If the patient suffered new episodes of instability, this option would be reconsidered.’
