First charitable donation: 960,000 € for medical supplies and social welfare

UD Almería Foundation and City Council completed the action plan to bring a halt to the coronavirus outbreak with the donation of Turki Al-Sheikh

UD Almería Foundation together with Almeria City Council, have completed the action plan that they were preparing to fight coronavirus with the donation of 1,200,000 euros that the chairman and owner of the Rojiblanco club, Turki Al-Sheikh, made a few days ago.

In this sense, it should be underlined that there is a first charitable donation consisting of an investment of 960,000 euros. 550,000 euros are destined for medical equipment for hospitals and protective gear for healthcare workers. In addition, a mobile ICU for Protection Civil (Spanish Civil defense) will be acquired, for a value of 100,000 euros. There will also be a contribution of 50,000 euros for Almeria City Council and another donation of 50,000 euros for ‘Diputación Provincial de Almeria’ (Provincial Government) in order to provide them with protective equipment for their workers.

On the other hand, it has been decided to grant 100,000 for people at risk of poverty and social exclusion, through the humanitarian institution, Cruz Roja, and another 100,000 euros to help people affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

Within the donation made by Turki Al-Sheikh, the action plan will allocate 10,000 euros to cover the costs of caregivers accompanying the elderly.

As previously mentioned, these will be the first steps of the action plan that will be developed immediately, as proposed by both UD Almería Foundation and Almeria City Council through the mayor, Ramón Fernández-Pacheco. These are the two entities designated by the chairman and owner of the club Turki Al-Sheikh that are working against the clock to develop this recent charitable initiative.

The remaining 240,000 euros will go for emergencies that may occur and cover needs to those affected by this pandemic or people without financial resources after two months.
