Experienced striker Dyego Sousa joins UD Almería

The 31-year-old Portuguese is 1,90. He has been Portugal international in the UEFA Europa League Qualifiers

The 7th UD Almeria signing is here! Dyego Sousa comes after Babic, Carriço, Juanjo Nieto, Arnau, Portillo and Curro Sánchez. The São José de Ribamar-born 31-year-old experienced striker is 1.9m and signs a season-long move with the option for a second. 

Dyego Wilverson Ferreira Sousa was born in Brazil, although he has Portuguese nationality. In fact, almost his entire footballing career has been carved out in the Lusitanian country, in addition to becoming Portugal international by participating in two UEFA Europa League Qualifiers games. 

After training in the Brazilian side SE Palmeiras São Paulo, he made the leap to Europe playing in Portugal and wearing the shirts of important teams such as Sporting de Braga, SL Benfica, FC Famalicão, CS Marítimo ... He went on to make more than 100 appearances across top-tier competitions in Portugal, both in LigaBwin and Portuguese Cup Taça de Portugal. He scored about 50 goals and provided numerous assists. In the 2019/20 season, Shenzhen FC from the Chinese Super League made a significant investment to get the player services. After leaving this club, he has just signed for UD Almería. 

Dyego Sousa is a benchmark in football as a centre forward. He is a strong, right-footed clinical finisher who is good at winning aerial duels and making runs in behind too.
