Curro Sánchez: bags of experience with fancy footwork

The Huelva-born winger is the UD Almería's third signing who moves from SD Ponferradina on a free transfer and signs for three seasons

Francisco José Sánchez Rodríguez, aka as Curro Sánchez, becomes UD Almería's third signing for the forthcoming 2021/22 season after the already announced additions  of full-back Juanjo Nieto and midfielder Arnau Puigmal. 

The 25-year-old La Palma del Condado native moves from SD Ponferradina on a free transfer, the club in which he played last season. Now he signs a three-year deal with UD Almeria. 

Curro Sanchez is a right-winger of great quality with bags of experience who has a fancy footwork. The footballer is a brilliant crosser with an effective shooting accuracy. He can also play on the left wing and operate as an attacking midfielder with the purpose of either teaming up with other players or shooting on goal. He has played a total of 134 Segunda Division games in four years and has managed to score 23 goals and provide 16 assists. 

His footballing career kicked off at Sevilla FC Youth and was captain of its ‘B’ team Sevilla Atletico for two seasons in the Segunda Division. Later he moved to CD Numancia and SD Ponferradina. He also debuted with the Sevilla FC first team. Curro Sánchez has been international with Spain U16, U17, U18 and U19.
