Carlos Gilbert will add to Almeria ‘B’ options up front

The 22-year-old striker moves from RCD Mallorca ‘B’ and signs a two-season contract with the Rojiblancos

UD Almería ‘B’ have signed a new striker. Carlos Gilbert comes from Real Club Deportivo Mallorca ‘B’, and signs a two-season contract as a Rojiblanco. The attacker ended last campaign on loan to Penya Deportiva.

Carlos Gilbert Herrera (Barcelona, 16 April, 1999) trained at the Espanyol Academy, where he rose through the ranks to become a second team player. At the start of the 2018/19 campaign, the 'Perico' club sent him to UA Horta on loan to play in fourth-tier Tercera Division, but this agreement ended in the winter transfer window of that same season, so that the player moved to Cornellà competing in third-tier Segunda Division ‘B’.

The performances of the U23 striker caught the attention of RCD Mallorca so they signed him in 2019 to play for the ’B’ team. In January 2021, he was shipped out to Penya Deportiva in Segunda Division ‘B’ (Group III), current Segunda Division RFEF.

Gilbert moves to the UD Almería ‘B’ team for the next two seasons. The Barcelona-born becomes an attack reinforcement with experience in the league and is now ready for the imminent Tercera Division RFEF kick-off (Group IX).
