Almería Women begin season hosting Olympia Las Rozas

The meeting takes place at 11am on Sunday at the Emilio Campra Youth Stadium. 100 spectators will be able to attend

UD Almeria Women led by head coach Agustín Sánchez begin a new season within group IV of Primera Nacional—which will be the third consecutive campaign competing in the same league level—hosting Olympia Las Rozas at the Emilio Campra Youth Stadium this Sunday, 5 September (kick-off 11am Spain Time).

This upcoming league meeting will have the presence of the supporters after the Club has been authorised a limited capacity of 100 spectators. In this way, those fans who would like to support the girls in action will be able to access for free until the allowed seats are all occupied. It is worth highlighting that the doors will be open one hour before the match kick-off (10am).

Those supporters attending the opening game must keep a safe distance and wear a face covering at all times. It will not be allowed to eat or drink -except for water-, the fans must remain seated at all times except to go to the toilets and it is advisable to always follow the instructions given by the Club’s staff.

The girls from Almería Women have been involved in a demanding pre-season playing against teams from Liga Reto—second tier of women's football in Spain— and Primera Nacional—third tier— with the aim of going into the opening match in good form. The Indalicas accomplished their summer preparations after achieving a 0-1 victory over UD Aguilas Women thanks to Jessi’s match-winning goal.

A few key Rojiblancas managed to continue in the team last season but now the family has been joined by new players with lots of experience in the category ahead of a campaign that is expected to be highly contested. There will be many teams going all out for promotion. A new category will be underway in the 2022/23 season between Liga Reto and Primera Nacional leagues. This is a readjustment of women's football in Spain by the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) as it has already happened with the creation of the third-tier Primera Division RFEF in men’s football.
