Almeria continue in promotion spots to First Division

The rojiblancos are runners-up, only three points adrift of the leaders, Cádiz. Huesca (2 points), Zaragoza (3), Fuenlabrada (8) and Elche (9) are the nearest opponents topping the table in the play-off positions.

Almeria remain in an automatic promotion spot to First Division after being defeated by Elche on matchday 25. This loss comes after three consecutive wins against Lugo, Real Oviedo and Extremadura. The rojiblancos, who became leaders in Almendralejo a week ago, are sitting second, just three points behind Cádiz.

The four teams finishing directly below the automatic promotion enter the play-offs in a chance to gain promotion. Huesca are now sitting third two points adrift Almeria, while Real Zaragoza are sitting fourth three points behind, but the latter are to play one more match. Further down in the table, Fuenlabrada are in the fifth place (8 points behind) and Elche close the play-off positions (9 points).

Almeria visit Nuevo Estadio los Pajaritos for the next fixture. CD Numancia de Soria are struggling to move upwards and reach the top places in the table. Previously, Ponferradina-Huesca (Saturday, 6.15 p.m.) and Cádiz-Zaragoza (Sunday, 4 p.m.) will have been played.
