Almeria ‘B’ begin league action visiting Huétor Tájar on Sunday

The Academy players play their opening competitive game within Tercera Division RFEF (Group IX) at 7pm (Spain Time)

The wait is over! This Sunday, the UD Almería ‘B’ players get the 2021/22 Tercera Division RFEF season started competing within group IX and visiting Huétor Tájar. The Academy players, who have played many pre-season matches, will play their opening game (kick-off 7pm/ Spain Time) at the Miguel Moranto ground with many objectives set.

Head coach Óscar Fernández highlighted during a chat with the Club's official media that his boys are ‘looking forward to starting’ and that he cannot wait for ‘his players to feel participants in this demanding competition and in this group.’ Not surprisingly, the Indálicos will compete alongside historical teams that have relevant experience in the world of football, which suggests that Almería ‘B’ will have to make a huge effort in every match week.

The Academy hopefuls are fully aware that it is better not to set long-term goals, but that the most convenient thing is, as the head coach said, ‘to continue taking steps forward along the way. Rushing doesn’t help at all on this journey. We have to be calm, continue doing things well and improving to reach the goal.’

Taking everything into account, UD Almería ‘B’ will kick off the campaign with a demanding opening game away from home. Óscar Fernández will not announce the squad list in advance until Sunday when he knows who will join the first team and those members of Almeria U19s ‘A’ who may be part of the travelling squad.
