Alex Centelles: ‘We have to forget what we’ve done because football has no memory’

The 22-year-old left-back emphasises that they have to give their full attention to CD Leganés and go all out to extend their brilliant run of results

‘We have to forget what we’ve done because football has no memory,’ exclaimed UD Almeria left-back Alex Centelles during a friendly chat with UDA Radio, the Club’s official radio station. He assured that the best thing is to go game by game: ‘What we have to do now is to give our full attention to CD Leganés and go all out for a win to extend this positive run of results, which is great.’ Although he valued the astounding victory over CD Mirandes very positively, it is past and we have to keep going.

In addition, the next adversaries ‘are a great team and because they’re coming on the back of a winless streak, we mustn’t relax. We see them as a great club and a great team; we must do our very best on the pitch.’ On this subject, he added that each league meeting is a very different story in this tier and ‘anyone can beat you.’

Centelles considers that work and humility are fundamental aspects in such a long and complicated competition, apart from the fact that ‘there’s a healthy competitiveness within the squad and we have to train hard because we’re all important. The head coach has already told us that anyone can play as a starter and we should remain focused.’

The Valencian footballer considers that ‘the mixture of having offensive power and a solid defence is what makes us achieve victories. The team dynamics are great and the key is to have the whole team on fire because whoever plays, we can get the three points.’
