1-2: Almeria ‘B’ score great triumph through huge effort

Gilbert’s brace and effective teamwork seal victory over rivals CD Torreperogil

UD Almería ‘B’ scored a great triumph away in their visit to CD Torreperogil by showing huge effort throughout the 90 minutes of play. Gilbert, who is in great shape at the moment, was in charge of putting twice his name onto the scoresheet (0-2). The visitors tried to snatch a point at least, however the Academy Indalicos’ effective teamwork rewarded them with a well-deserved victory to be celebrated.

With 8 minutes gone, Lokosa lost his marker to fire in the first fine attempt but after the rebound, Gilbert found the opener (0-1). The boys from Almeria were aware that if they decreased in intensity they could have a hard time, so despite having an advantage, they continued playing as if the result was still a draw. Fuoli averted danger after the opponents’ warning shot from the edge of the box. Next, Rojas made an individual action whose shot grazed the post and just before the break, the Jaén-based goalie used his foot to deny Lokosa.

With the arrival of the second half, Almeria ‘B’ were seen again bossing things on the pitch, who managed to extend their advantage shortly after returning from the changing room. Fermín was in charge of taking a free-kick from a wide position and Gilbert, with a header, slotted home again. The Catalan striker has found the back of the net in the last 5 matches including the last double against the lads from Torreperogil.

With 75 minutes on the clock, the home team contenders beat Fuoli to make it 1-2. Since then, UD Almería ‘B’ continued to pluck up the courage in the final minutes through effective teamwork and intensity. Raúl Caballero was about to extend their lead, yet the crossbar was the only one capable of stopping the attacker.

With the final whistle, the Academy Indalicos wrapped up a victory again after two Matchdays without winning to sit closer to the top positions.
